Suwanee's First November Weekend Runs on Both Sides of the Tunnel

This weekend, downtown Suwanee hosts four events in two connected parks. The farmers market, the car show and the veterans ceremony are all at Town Center on Main & DeLay Nature Park, 421 Main Street, and none of them is ticketed. Across the pedestrian tunnel, Town Center Park turns into a gated, ticketed venue for adults 21 and older for one Saturday afternoon. The city's schedule leaves a one-hour gap between the two.

This weekend also shows how downtown's calendar has shifted. The newer park on Main Street now holds much of the recurring, unticketed programming. Town Center Park, the lawn at Buford Highway and Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, hosts the big events with gates and wristbands.

Saturday starts on the Main Street side

The Winter Farmers Market season opens Saturday, November 7, and it isn't at the old lawn. The city's farmers market page places the market at Town Center on Main & DeLay Nature Park, 421 Main Street.

The winter version is shorter than the summer market that just ended. The summer market ran every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, May through October. The winter market runs from 9 to 11 a.m. on select Saturdays, November through April. That's half the hours, on about half the Saturdays. Arriving at 10:45 a.m. leaves you a quarter of an hour.

The market's location is what makes the rest of Saturday work. The city's Town Center page describes Town Center on Main as "just through the pedestrian tunnel" from Town Center Park. Its 13 acres include volleyball courts, the 1,200-foot bridge across the park and Greater Good, the Veterans Memorial. The recently rebuilt PlayTown Suwanee playground sits right next to it. None of the Wine Fest's age, stroller or pet rules apply on this side of the tunnel.

Noon, and Town Center Park closes behind a gate

The market ends at 11 a.m. and the 13th Annual Suwanee Wine Fest opens at Town Center Park at noon. The festival FAQ gives VIP entry from noon to 4:30 p.m. and general admission from 1 to 4:30 p.m. VIP guests enter through a separate entrance behind the stage. General admission uses the Main Entrance.

For one afternoon, the rules on that lawn are different from the rest of the year:

  • Age: Everyone needs to be 21 or older with a valid ID. No one under 21 is admitted.
  • Strollers and pets: The city's event listing says no babies in strollers and no pets. The organizer allows only certified service dogs.
  • Price: General admission is $65, then goes up to $70 and to $75 on the day of the event. VIP is $150. When the organizer's homepage was checked on October 19, VIP showed as sold out.
  • Designated drivers: A limited number of tickets cost $25 with a general admission purchase. You can also buy them at the booth on the day, and there's no VIP version.
  • Getting there: Parking is at Suwanee Town Center Park and on Main Street, and no shuttles are scheduled.

Inside, wine experts from TopShelf Beverage chose more than 150 wines, and there's a Georgia winery section. Guests who don't drink wine can get ready-to-drink cocktails, seltzers and beer. The festival also has live music, local vendors and food from area restaurants and trucks.

Main Street, home to the morning market, is one of the two parking areas the festival names. The city keeps a downtown parking map that shows the public lots across the district.

Sunday goes back to 421 Main Street

On Sunday, November 8, the events return to the Main Street side. The Suwanee Classic Car Show, presented by HappyFeat, runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Town Center on Main & DeLay Nature Park. Admission is free. Up to 180 cars register, including muscle cars, street rods, exotics and imports, and the show adds live music, food and family activities. Registration is $35 per car, or $40 on the day. The show raises money for HappyFeat, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports young adults with disabilities through inclusive programs.

The venue is the clearest sign of the shift. A 2021 city calendar listing placed the car show at Town Center Park. This year it's across the tunnel, in the same park as the farmers market.

At 1 p.m., during the car show, the Suwanee Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution holds a Veterans Memorial Celebration at the Greater Good Veterans Memorial in Town Center on Main. The city's listing invites veterans, families and community members to the 30-minute tribute. City offices close Wednesday, November 11, for Veterans Day.

Where the gaps in the day get filled

From 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, and again after the car show on Sunday, the restaurants around Town Center Park are the in-between stop. A downtown business directory checked on October 17, 2026, lists them as operating:

  1. Town Center Avenue, the buildings facing the park. Ippolito's Italian is at 350 Town Center Avenue, run by independent operators who bought the Suwanee restaurant in 2025. Suwanee Social and the brunch spot Bloom Room share the same building. Brown Bag Deli & Cafe and Tequila Mama Taqueria are at 340 Town Center Avenue. Mellow Mushroom and Golden Seven are at 320.
  2. Buford Highway. Raik Mediterranean and Bottles & Bones are at 400 Buford Highway. StillFire Brewing's taproom is at 343 Buford Highway, beside Station Park.
  3. Back at 421 Main Street, after dark. The Suwanee Circle food-truck park at Town Center on Main opens at 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and runs until 10 p.m., with rotating trucks and an outdoor bar.

Main Street has one more table on the way, but it isn't open yet. In June 2025, the Suwanee Downtown Development Authority named BOCA Taqueria as the restaurant partner for the historic Pierce's Corner building at 597 Main Street. The plan pairs a first-floor restaurant with a second-floor omakase, and the opening was projected for spring 2026. The city's construction page still lists the building as being renovated for a new restaurant. Down the street, Main Street Park at 687 Main Street reopened August 1 with a new pavilion, a basketball court and more parking.

The same split carries into December

After this weekend, Town Center Park hosts one event at a time. The Art on the Run: Turkey Trot 5K runs there Saturday, November 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. That same morning, the city's calendar lists an Electronics Recycling Event.

The holiday centerpiece is smaller on the current listing. Last year, the city expanded its holiday event into Jolly Holly Days, held Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, 2025. The Saturday included more than 80 artisan vendors and a Holiday Pet Parade at the tree. The 2026 listing uses the singular name, Jolly Holly Day, for one Friday evening at Town Center Park. It runs December 4 from 6 to 9 p.m., with Santa arriving at 6:30 p.m. and the tree lighting at 8 p.m. The page adds that the full schedule is still to come.

The farmers market, meanwhile, keeps its twice-monthly Saturday schedule at 421 Main Street through April:

  • November: 7 and 21
  • December: 5 and 19
  • January: 9 and 23
  • February: 13 and 27
  • March: 13 and 27
  • April: 10 and 24

That puts a winter market on the Saturday morning after the Jolly Holly tree lighting, December 5, from 9 to 11 a.m. In 2025, that Saturday belonged to the vendor market on the other side of the tunnel.
